Advanced Youth Driving School

(Ages 13 - 15)

     This class is designed for youth, ages 13 - 15, to be able to drive our adult karts. Previous experience on our track is required for this class. The class begins with the student driving the youth karts and they gradually progress to the adult karts.  An instructor evaluates the student on their driving ability throughout the class, spending more time on their weaker areas. Classes are scheduled before we open to the public, guaranteeing the student 2 hours of one-on-one time with the instructor.

Below is a course outline. Time spent on each area depends on the student’s learning ability. All classes are customized for each student.

* Lead-follow session with Instructor (Youth Kart)

* Track walk, discuss racing line

* Lead-follow session with Instructor (Youth Kart)

* Quick Introduction to Sodi RX7 9HP Adult Kart

* Warm-up laps with instructor (Adult Kart)

* Lead-follow session with instructor (Adult Kart)

* Instructor evaluation and feedback

* Passing exercises with Instructor (Adult Kart)

* Instructor evaluation and feedback

* Instructor will review anything the Student wants (Adult Kart)

* Instructor and Student race & review until the class ends (Adult Kart)

Youth Karting 101

(Ages 8 - 15)

     This class is designed for youth, ages 8 - 15, to introduce them to racing. No experience is required for this class. The class begins with an introduction to the rules and karts. The student and instructor start driving the youth karts and gradually add more speed as the student feels comfortable.  An instructor evaluates the student on their driving ability throughout the class, spending more time on their weaker areas. Classes are scheduled before we open to the public, guaranteeing the student 2 hours of one-on-one time with the instructor.

* Introduction to the Sodi Youth Karts

* Go over proper throttle and braking control

* Warm-up laps with instructor

* Instructor feedback

* Lead-follow session with instructor

* Instructor feedback and evaluation

* Track walk, discuss racing line

* Lead-follow session with instructor

* Instructor feedback - sees if student is comfortable with kart

* Lead-follow session with instructor (adding more speed)

* Instructor evaluation and feedback

* Passing exercises with Instructor

* Instructor evaluation and feedback

* Instructor will review anything the Student wants

* Instructor and Student race & review until the class ends

* Certificate of Completion
