Q: How much does it cost to race?

A: For a complete price list visit 'Regular Pricing' on the left menu. We have member and non-member rates. There's also monthly specials.

Q: Why should I become a member?

A: With a membership you have access to lower rates and monthly specials, which are not available to non-members. You can also buy races and store them on your card to use whenever you want. The more races you buy at one time, the cheaper it is per race. As a member you also have access to our sprint races and leagues.

Q: Besides kart racing, what else do you guys have?

A: Over 50 arcade games with prizes for tickets, 4 billiards tables, laser tag, free Wi-Fi Internet, a viewing area with 6 TVs, party rooms, and corporate meeting rooms. Check out our 'Media Gallery' for pictures.

Q: Do I need anything to race? Do I need a Drivers license?

A: Nope… But we do need some sort of proof of age. We supply helmets and neck collars. Closed-toe shoes are required, but we also supply these.

Q: Can I bring my own helmet?

A: Of course you can but it has to be a closed-face helmet that’s DOT approved. We DON’T allow open-face helmets, motocross helmets (even with goggles), or pit crew helmets. Motorcycle helmets with the movable front piece are allowed as long as its DOT approved.

Q: How long is a race?

A: Races are 8 minutes long and start when the last kart leave the pit area. Usually you can do 8-10 laps depending on how fast you go.

Q: What’s the track like?

A: Our track is spread out over 70,000 square-feet. It’s a 3rd of a mile in length and wider than most indoor tracks at 20 feet wide. There’s an assortment of 20 turns designed to challenge even the best road-course specialists and a 22ft wide front straightway for grid starts.

Q: What karts do you guys have?

A: We have 20 European Sodi RX7 adult karts and 10 European Sodi Youth karts (gas powered of course). Both have Honda motors with the adult karts at 9hp and the youth karts at 5.5hp.

Q: How fast can they go?

A: The Adult Sodi RX7s are capable of speeds 40mph+. The Sodi Youth Karts reach 30mph+. These karts are a lot faster than amusement park karts.

Q: Is the racing safe?

A: Yes. Indoor kart racing is one of the safest forms of racing because the race takes place in a controlled environment, monitored by our well-trained track marshals.

Q: What’s a good lap time?

A: You can view live lap times by going to the link on the side menu. A good adult lap time is around 46.000 seconds. Lap record is around 44.500 seconds. A good Youth lap time is around 50.000 seconds. Lap record is around 49.004 seconds.

Q: Do I have to wear a race suit?

A: No. We do have race suits but they are not required.

Q: Do I get anything for racing?

A: Of course… After every race you receive a printout of all your lap times, complete with a graph and track map.

Q: How many karts do you put out on track at once?

A: We run up to 10 karts at a time for regular arrive and drive. For groups and private events we’ll run up to 16 karts at a time.

Q: Can adults and youths race together?

A: No, for safety reasons we run adult and youth races separately.

Q: How old do you have to be to race?

A: The youth has to be between the ages of 8-15 and must stand 48 inches. We have seat cushions to help accommodate smaller youths. For the adult karts you have to be 16 or older.

Q: My son/daughter races professionally; can I show you their racing license so they can race the adult karts?

A: It’s awesome to see youths with great talent but our insurance policy stipulates youths (ages 8-15) can only drive the youth karts and not the adult karts. There is, however, an exception to this rule. If a youth is between the ages of 13-15 they can take our Advanced Youth Karting Course, which familiarizes them with the adult karts. Upon completion of the course, the youth (ages 13-15) is allowed to drive the adult karts anytime. They MUST pass OUR course which certifies them under OUR insurance policy that they can safely drive the adult karts. NO EXCEPTIONS. For more information check out our Driving School Page: 'Click Here'.

Q: I have a small child; can I drive with them on my lap?

A: No.

Q: A bunch of my buddies want to race… Can we get a group discount?

A: Sure. We offer group discounts for 8 or more people. Check out our price list: 'Click Here'.

Q: Do NASCAR Drivers race here?

A: Many drivers from a variety of motorsports have been here as well as team members, crew chiefs, engineers, and sponsors. Many up-and-coming developmental drivers also come here. Several drivers have signed a copy of their membership card which you can view at the front counter.

OTHER QUESTIONS

Q: Can I rent the whole facility?

A: Absolutely. When the whole facility is rented we call that an Exclusive Event. We close the doors to the public (post that were closed on our website), and the place is yours for however long you pay for. The PIT can offer catering options as well as race formats for karting.

Q: I noticed you have company banners on the wall and kart decals of sponsors. What’s this for?

A: The PIT offers a variety of advertising opportunities throughout our facility. If an individual or company wants to get their product/service known, the PIT is able to provide many affordable advertising strategies. Anything from showcasing your product on our track islands (center sections), to large or small banners, kart decals, race suit patches, helmet stickers, time sheet ads, etc... If you can think of a way to advertise it, we’re happy to hear your ideas. Contact one of our marketing reps for a portfolio of what we can offer.

Q: How do I get a job at the PIT?

A: It depends what position you want. For track marshals and cashiers we prefer individuals with previous work-related experience. A common misconception is you have a better chance of getting hired if you have driving experience. We don’t care about driving experience, we prefer hard-working individuals who are customer friendly, and get along well with our staff. You’re welcome to drop by a resume and fill out an application but these are only reviewed if we're hiring. There is no need to follow up; we will call the individuals we know are qualified.

Q: What did this place used to be before a kart track?

A: The building used to be a textile factory which produced a variety of products including curtains. There used to be two floors where the kart track is (notice the doors on the wall). You can also see some of the trolley tracks in the floor where the assembly line was.

Q: When did you guys first open?

A: December 28th of 2007. We had a grand opening to the public later in January. The upstairs opened later on May 10th, 2008.

Q: How many Goodyear tires did it take to build the track?

A: 3,350 Goodyear tires.

Q: How long did the track take to build?

A: The kart track took around 3 months to build.
